A Victorian Four-Piece Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Service George Angell & Co., London, 1849-1853 An assembled group comprising a teapot, coffeepot, creamer, and open sugar; the coffeepot in a closely related pattern. (4). (H: 9 1/2 in. (coffeepot); Total weight: 70.7 oz. t.) Provenance Private Collection, Portland, Maine. Condition report: The coffeepot with marks for 1853, the creamer and sugar with date mark for 1849, the teapot with date mark for 1852; all stamps very clear. Condition commensurate with age and use, light scratches, rubbing, and wear. Occasional dents and dings; the coffeepot handle with two deeper dents/abrasions. Some oxidation present. One spacer to teapot replaced with modern fill (possible repair); the other spacers with cracking and wear commensurate with age. The cartouches unmonogrammed.
