Dimensions: Height: 6.7 cm, Diam.: 13.1 cm Pair of Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Famille Rose Mille Fleur Motif Porcelain Bowls. The bowls has an open mouth, rounded lip rim, thick, deep arced body, raised with round foot ring and slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in Famille rose which contrast against Mille Fleur design. The Mille Fleur decoration, meaning the thousand flowers design first appears in the late Yongzheng period becoming extremely popular in the Qianlong. The dense millefleurs design features naturalistic blossoming peonies, chrysanthemums, hibiscus, morning glories, roses, lotus flowers, daisies, lilies and pinks amidst an abundance of foliage, the mouth rims with gilt bands, the bases and interiors often turquoise-enameled on older pieces. The glaze on this bowl is rather thick and moisturizing while the color is strong and brilliant. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red seal script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
