Dimensions: Height: 49 cm, Diam.: 39 cm Chinese Qing Dynasty Qianlong Wucai Hundred Deer Motif Porcelain Zun Vase. The Porcelain potted in a Zun shaped vase, thick and large, globular oval body, short cylindrical neck, two ring handles emerging and flanked on the shoulder, raised with ring foot base rim and slightly concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against wucai design color, depicted of hundred deer in a salubrious mountain landscape. The Hundred Deer design is a wish for great wealth and success. Jars decorated with the Hundred Deer motif can be more readily found painted in the wucai enamels. The deer symbolizes immortality and is the companion of Shuolao, the God of Longevity, while the inclusion of peaches and Lingzhi fungus in the decoration is often a further symbolic of longevity. The surface of the glaze is bright, smooth and glossy. The color is luster that fresh and gorgeous with unique charm. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
