A Christians Liverpool Porcelain Punch Bowl, circa 1770, printed in red with an armorial, the exterior with three scenes depicting the miller, his son and their ass from Aesop's Fables, 23cm diameter See Hillis (Maurice) Liverpool Porcelain 1756-1804, pg.535 and 536 where the rare armorial print is discussed noting that this armorial is only recorded on two similar punch bowls and a saucer, and that the armorial probably relates to a Masonic type organisation based in Liverpool in the second half of the 18th century.. Section of rim broken out and with rivetted repair. Interior of bowl, including print, extensively worn.
