铭文： 形如偃月，气能屈铁。风度天然，不假修饰。或谓痴头陀谈禅之石交，何异漫居士袖中之拂拭。印文：砚北 配红木砚盒。铭者简介： 朱景英［清］，字幼芝，一字梅冶，号砚北，晚号砚北翁。湖南武陵人。乾隆十五年解元。历任宁德知县，台湾鹿耳门同知，北路理番同知。工汉隶。尝纂修《沅州府志》。有《海东日札》、《畬经堂集》、《研北诗余》。
