以瓷仿青铜礼器之风始于宋代，因其气韵典雅，其后蔚然成风，一直延续至晚清民国，仍十分流行。有明一代，则以德化窑烧制的瓷仿青铜器为典范之一，广受文人雅士喜爱。这件瓷饕餮纹三足炉正是晚明德化窑之佳作，釉色皎洁莹白，釉质细腻，此炉仿青铜鼎之造型，形制作直腹六角，炉沿两侧塑冲天耳，下承三足，炉身下方雕饰饕餮纹，上部则有夔龙纹饰带。整件作品气韵大方典正，既有德化白瓷的典雅，又有青铜彝器之威严，实乃瓷炉中难得佳品。
