It has an elongate body, especially the upper section, and with a proportionally large dish mouth than such vases made thereafter. This shape is typical for KangXi period B/W porcelain dish mouth vases. The clay that forms the body is white and very fine, typical of Kangxi porcelain clays. The transparent glaze on the inner wall and the outer base is white, jewelry blue glaze is exceedingly beautiful and very rare. In Chinese porcelain history, this color exists primarily among a very small number of porcelains. A double circles mark in underglaze blue is written at center of the outer base. The underglaze cobalt pigment is subdued and appears to adhere to the bottom of the glaze. These are important characteristics of early Kangxi underglaze, and differentiate Kangxi from later imitations.
