Jade Shakyamuni Buddha standing amongst five buddha, sitting in the vajra posture of meditation. Shakyamuni Buddha figure affixed to a heavenly backdrop and supported by majestic pedestal. Buddhas partially open eyes gaze forward, depicted with hair gathered into the traditional bun along with elongated earlobes. Segan Semui-in mudra is depicted with the combination of Varda and Abhaya. Varda Mudra of charity and compassion is displayed by the left hand, symbolizing the five perfections generosity, morality, patience, effort, and meditative concentration. Abhaya mudra is shown by the right hand, symbolizing protection peace and the dissipating of fear. Jade shows a tinge of celadon coloring with irregular golden hues of natural inclusions. The stone has a creamy appearance with moist sheen. Jade is precious because it is rare, and because the quality of jade corresponds to virtue. It relates to such virtues as benevolence, wisdom, righteousness, propriety, loyalty, and trustworthiness, and it also corresponds to the ways of the heaven and earth.
