A CURLY HORN SNUFF MULL - MILITARY INTEREST UNMARKED the horn of simple curled form with collar mount to rim engraved with the inscription 'A token of friendship from M. Gen Sir Tho Bradford to Capt R. M. McDonell, the hinged domed lid with all-over floral decoration, collet set with a foil backed yellow paste (9cm long) Provenance: From the collection of the Late Tony Edwards, Grange Farmhouse, St. Andrews Footnote: Note: Sir Thomas Bradford (1777-1853) rose through the ranks and commanded a Portuguese division at Vittoria , the siege of San Sebastian and the battle of the Nive, missing the battle of Waterloo due to injury he commanded the troops in France and in Scotland between 1815 and 1825 before being appointed commander in chief in Bombay.
