With a central panel containing a colourful crowd of figures arriving in a fenced garden around a pavilion, some descending from clouds, others making their way on foot, the lively scene surrounded by a border of blossoms and cash, the edges decorated with precious scholar's objects and with six lion dogs, all inlaid in soapstone, bone and mother-of-pearl and painted with gilt lacquer, the reverse painted with wild birds, blossoms and precious objects, 183 x 48.5cm.
