A Japanese brown patinated bronze okimono figure group of two tortoises by Nogami Ryuki, Meiji/Taisho period, modelled with the younger tortoise clambering onto the larger tortoise's back, signed Ryuki to underside, length 8.3cm. Note: Nogami Ryuki (1865-1932) was a graduate of the Tokyo School of Fine Art, where he studied under one of the most notable craftsmen of the Meiji era, Oshima Joun (1858-1940). He exhibited several bronze tortoises at the Paris Exposition of 1900. Buyer’s Premium 29.4% (including VAT @ 20%) of the hammer price.
