Tao Lengyue (1895-1985), Chinese painter. Formerly known as Shanyong, the word Yongshao, the name Yong, Hongzhai, Wuliu descendants, Kemeng Taoist, and a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu. In the 1920s and 1930s, he served as a professor of the Art Department of Changsha Yali University, a professor and dean of the Art Department of National Jinan University, a professor of the Art Department of Henan University, and a professor of National Sichuan University. He also founded Nanjing Academy of Fine Arts with Xie Gongzhan and Lu Fengzi. He is good at landscapes, flowers, animals, and fishes. He is especially good at painting the moonlit night scenery combining Chinese and Western. Librarian of Shanghai Museum of Literature and History, member of Shanghai Branch of Chinese Artists Association.
