The indigo field with scrolling leafy and floral vine together with serrated palmettes around concentric double floral and arabesque medallion with pendants. Central radiating floral piece. Sandy-yellow arabesque spandrels. In soft red border of arabesques, palmettes and serrated leafy vine between floral meander, zig-zag and plain stripes, approx. 193cm x 124cm. This rug has full pile of very soft and lustrous silk. Salvages original. Ends with kilim and fringes, also original. Very fine weave approx. 7 x 7 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. In general this rug is in an excellent condition throughout. Very atractive piece.
