China, possibly Ming dynasty, kundika form, with long neck with a raised ring, resting on a high splayed stem foot with dull horizontal grooves, the pale celadon body decorated with two sets of thick dark gray and finer lighter brownish gray crackles, lightly glazed brown mouth rim, bisque foot ring, six-character Chenghua mark in underglaze blue on base, ht. 8 1/2 in.

Provenance: Purchased in the UK in the 1950s by the present owner's mother who immigrated to the US in the 1960s; inherited by the present owner in the 1990s.
