Impressed with the Madoura Pottery mark that reads "Madoura Plein Feu" along the underside. In 1946, the owners of Madoura Pottery - Suzanne and Georges Ramie - invited Pablo Picasso to their workshop in Vallauris, France. Picasso made three pieces in the workshop which he left to dry and bake. A year later, he returned to see how the pieces had developed. Picasso was delighted by the quality and continued to work with the Madoura team for several years, producing a number of ceramics ranging from vases, sculptures, plaques, and even a complete dinner service.
