Finely carved in the form of an axe-form bell detailed with a band of archaistic dragons below neatly incised ruyi heads forming a beast head, all surmounted by a bi disk and a pair of confronting chilong. The translucent stone of an attractive white tone with veins and patches of black. Provenance: From a notable English private collector of Chinese jades. Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear, microscopic nibbling, the stone with natural fissures, some of which may have developed into small hairline cracks over time.
