拍品形制简约端雅，釉面润泽光洁。碗内外通以青花为饰，碗心绘一老僧诵经，外壁通景环绘达摩诵经图，据传达摩一苇渡江后，于嵩山少林寺传法慧可，此画面内容或为达摩与众僧侣在少林寺庭院诵经之场景，达摩手持经卷，虔心诵读，两名僧侣均盘膝席地而坐，神态怡然，身周洞石灵秀，云雾缭绕。构图舒朗，人物传神，青花发色翠丽，赏玩间静思宜神。
款识：“大明嘉靖年制”六字双行楷书款
