拍品形制秀巧，小器大样。外壁通以青花为饰，颈部一周莲瓣纹，外壁环绘禹、契、皋陶、后稷四士图，四人或持扇，或捧书，或怒喝，或教言，对应土木建设、教化人民、牢狱刑法与田农桑种四种职责。 《管子·法法》中记载：“舜之有天下也，禹为司空，契为司徒，皋陶为李，后稷为田。此四士者，天下之贤人也。”明朝末年，时局动荡，四士代表的贤明君王与能德大臣更成为文人墨客寄情之形象，以此为文房瓷器纹饰，颇具时代特征。
