拍品折沿深腹，两侧设铺耳，造型古雅。以铜铸成，包浆光润。全器内外通以錾刻云气纹为饰，云气蒸腾，刻划细腻。鋗为平地铺耳小盆，多用于净面、洁身，唐代女子喜施华美妆容，唐代诗人王建所作《宫词一百首》中便有“归到院中重洗面，金花盆里泼银泥”之词，其中“金盆”或即指此类器皿。 埃斯肯纳齐曾于2003年举办斯托克雷特宫藏中国艺术品展，其中一只西汉鎏金铜鋗，形制与拍品相同，可资参阅。
