Three Chinese Red Overlay Yellow Glass Articles 19TH CENTURY 清晚期 黃地套紅料牡丹紋觀音瓶及蓮花紋蓋罐一對 the vase having a cylindrical body, slightly waisted at the base, with rounded shoulders and a short neck, overlaid to the opaque ground with carved red glass phoenixes roosting among peony, with a band of prunus encircling the neck above ruyi lappets. The pair of jars worked in similar tones, the globular bodies carved with an overlay of large lotus flowerheads, the domed covers encircled with petal lappet bands.
