Dimensions: Overall size: 7 1/4 x 9 3/8 in. (184 x 238 mm). Lot Note(s): Signed in pencil with the initials, lower right; annotated "H.C." in pencil, lower left. From the edition of 60 Hors Commerce impressions. Cream wove watermarked Arches paper. Full margins, as issued. Fine impression with vivid colors. Fine condition. Provenance: From the library of the London gallerist and bookseller Anton Zwemmer (1892–1979), a publisher of the work. Comment(s): Authorized by and printed under the supervision and participation of Braque, four years before his death. Braque applied a complimentary signature to a number of H.C. impressions of this print. The auction record for a pochoir (“Nature morte”) of approximately the same size as our example is SF8,400 ($6,737) realized at Galerie Koller, Zurich, 6/23/2006, lot #Z20/3.
