Dimensions: Overall size: 7 7/8 x 6 1/2 in. (200 x 165 mm). Lot Note(s): Signed and dated in crayon, lower right recto; annotated in red pencil, upper right corner recto; collector ink stamp, verso. Painted on watermarked light cream laid paper. Very good condition; jagged left edge, the sheet undoubtedly removed from a sketchbook; a few minor losses left edge; pinhole center right; annotation in pencil, verso; remains of newspaper (?) upper center edge; presents very well. Starting around 1911, Marcoussis was part of the Cubist movement alongside other avant-garde painters like Picasso, Braque, Juan Gris and those of the Section d'Or.
