Comment(s): In 1935 Mydans began to work for the Farm Security Administration, working with photographers such as Dorothea Lange and Ben Shahn to document conditions of American rural workers. In 1936 he joined Life magazine as one of its earliest staff photographers (Alfred Eisenstaedt, Margaret Bourke-White, Thomas McAvoy and Peter Stackpole were the originals).
