A mid-19th century mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the brass breakarch dial engraved with an eagle carrying a 'Tempus Fugit' banner to arch above Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Jabez Shepheard Plymouth', the hood with swan neck pediment above a glazed door and reeded columns, the trunk with arched door, on a plain base and bracket feet, height 216cm, with pendulum, two weights and winder. Note: Jabez Shepheard is a recorded clockmaker working in Plymouth, Devon, between 1844 and 1866. Buyer’s Premium 29.4% (including VAT @ 20%) of the hammer price.
