An oil on canvas of a winter landscape. Signature on bottom right to read G. Marich. Gordon Geza Marich (1913 - 1975) was known for landscape, portrait, city scene and flower painting. Born in Hungary, Marich studied art in Budapest and emigrated to Canada in 1957. He lived in Nova Scotia, Quebec and Hungary. His works are displayed in the National Museum of Budapest, in galleries in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal and in private collections. Known for his landscape, portrait, city and flower paintings, his work evolved towards abstraction, including extensive use of a palette knife. H: 23 in. L: 31 in.
