PROVENANCE: From Audubon, New Orleans Private Collector. Dimensions: Heigth: 9.5 cm, Diameter: 46 cm Chinese Ming Dynasty Red Glazed Peony Porcelain Plate. The plate has a broad wide central interior, thick and round flori lip, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against red fine color, depicted of peony flowers bloom interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. There is not any overlap of the outlines, its well carved, clear, subtle, and distinct.The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
