19th century The chaoshou (can be held on hand) inkstone of rectangular form, with a smoothly polished grinding surface declining into a troughed inkwell, the right side incised a poem and two seals reading zi shi, the upper side incised two characters reading shi qu, zitan stand and cover; the chi dragon inkstone of rectangular form with a raised rim, hollowed at the head forming a inkwell and surrounded by archaistic chi dragons carved in low-relief, the base slightly hollowed in the centre, the stone of dark grey tone. 15cm (6in) wide each.
