17th/18th century Of cylindrical form, finely pieced and carved from a section of bamboo with a scholar standing with his heads turned backwards accompanied by young attendant carrying scrolls, surrounded by craggy rockwork, all below boldly carved branches and pine needles, supported on three low bracket feet, the surface of a reddish-brown colour with glossy patina. 12.9cm (5 1/8in) high.FootnotesPlease note this Lot is to be sold at No Reserve 本拍品不設底價 Compare a related bamboo brushpot, signed by Zhu Sansong, Ming dynasty, depicting a similar decoration, which was sold at China Guardian, 15 November 2011, lot 4076. 十七/十八世紀 竹雕鏤空高士聽泉圖筆筒 筆筒取竹節一段而成,以天然橫膈膜為底。以浮雕及鏤雕技法,飾一高士低頭側首,於松蔭下、山石前,聆聽潺潺水聲,另一側小童眉開眼笑,肩背畫軸,頑皮可愛。整體佈局及工藝繼承明代竹雕風格,筆筒皮色如蜜蠟一般,包漿光潤。參看中國嘉德曾經售出一例明代竹雕三松款高士聽泉圖筆筒,其圖案佈局可資參考,2011年11月15日,拍品4076。
