THREE CHINESE ROBES AND A JAPANESE KIMONO 19th to early 20th century Comprising: an open-front tunic decorated in couched gold threads with shou characters on a brown ground with cuffs of fruits and bats on a blue ground; a lady's robe, embroidered with butterflies and peony roundels on a brown ground with ivory ground collar and hems; a semi-formal robe, jifu, decorated with nine five-clawed dragons in couched gold threads amidst clouds and Daoist emblems, bats and cloud scrolls, above foaming waves tossed with auspicious objects and a lishui stripe hem; together with a Japanese kimono embroidered with birds, flowers and rocks on an ivory ground.
