An inlaid iron slender vase Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century The body decorated in high relief of shell, shakudo, bronze and gilt with a continuous design of different auspicious objects including the tasselled 'cloak and hat of invisibility', a tsuchi (Daikoku's magic mallet), makimono (handscroll), a takarakagi (storehouse keys) and loose tama (wish-granting jewels) scattered over the surface; unsigned; with a wood storage box inscribed Tetsu sei kabin (An iron flower vase). 20.3cm (8in) high.
