A late 19th / early 20th century Anglo – Indian silver three-piece tea service, Cutch, Bhuj circa 1900 by Oomersi Mawji jnr (active 1890-1930) Raj period, comprising a teapot, a milk jug, and a twin handled sugar bowl. Each of cylindrical form with applied moulded rims. The teapot with a tubular spout opposite a cast and chased serpent handle formed cobra fitted with ivory insulators pinned to the junctions. The hinged domed lid surmounted by a coiled serpent. The bodies with deep chased decoration of foliate scrolls and rosettes between bands of acanthus leaves. Each marked underneath O.M BHUJ incuse.
