A mid-20th century Iraqi silver and niello cruet on tray, circa 1950 The tray of rectangular form with canted corners and twin handles, nielloed with a scene of Imam Ali al-Hadi shrine in Samarra. The cruet comprising a salt, mustard pot, with spoon and a pepper pot, each of tapering hexagonal form, nielloed with scenes of camels, mudhif, the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), the Abu Hanifa al in Nu'man, Baghdad, the Ziggurat of Dur-Kurigalzu, The Great Mosque of Samarra and the Lion of Babylon.
