A large Anna I early 18th century Russian 84 zolotnik parcel gilt beaker, Moscow 1738 by IC with a pitchfork between (unidentified active 1719-50, Postnikova 2587) Of tapering cylindrical form with moulded rim, the body with finely engraved arabesques and Baroque strap work scrolls with foliage and tulips. The upper and lower bands gilt, the interior gilt. The upper band later scratch engraved initial ligatured AB and date 1809. Fully marked underneath for assayer Afanasy Rybakov (active 1729-48) combined with date, town mark and assay scrape. Height – 14.9 cm / 5.9 inches Weight – 258 grams / 8.29 ozt
