A George II sterling silver cream pail, London 1751 by George Campar (reg. 7th Nov 1749) Of circular bucket form with an everted scalloped rim, the body with bands to resemble coopering. The opposable wrought handle of twisted form. The underside with contemporaneous initials I*N in Roman script. Fully marked underneath, the handle unmarked. Height – 7.9 cm / 2.9 inches Weight – 62 grams / 1.99 ozt George Campar apprenticed to Charles Pickering 3 April 1740, turned over ? Roker in November 1741, free 6th May 1747. Probably the George Campar who married a Mary Fuller on 3rd Jul 1747 at Saint Clement Danes, Westminster, London.
