A pair of George II sterling silver candlesticks, London 1750 by John Cafe Each of shaped square form with moulded sides, the central columns with tapering facets leading to a gadrooned shaped knop, terminating in plain circular capitals. Each with removable shaped and everted sconces. The wells engraved with an impaled coat of arms in a shield shaped cartouche below tied ribbon and foliage, the sconces each engraved with a crest of a talbot’s heads couped. Each fully marked underneath, makers mark to one capital, the sconces unmarked. Also, with scratch weight underneath 14=9 and 14=11=12, then to the sconces 1=13=12 each.
