此斗彩碗撇口，深腹，圈足。口沿内外、足胫处均以双圈青花为饰，近足处绘变体莲瓣纹一周，愈显挺拔俊逸。碗心及外壁主题纹饰为斗彩荷塘鸳鸯纹，以青花勾勒图案，而后填绘红、绿、黄诸彩，青花发色幽菁可爱，诸彩妍丽典雅，敷彩准确，技艺高超。
本品以斗彩装饰，颇有意趣。碗底落「爱莲珍赏」四字青花楷书款。鸳鸯荷塘图源自宋元织锦纹样，亦称「满池娇」，成为明清两朝官窑之经典纹饰。
