此枚方章以芙蓉石雕刻而成，石质细嫩，细腻凝润，作者巧思创作，在章体上部雕刻出一大朵已经完全绽开的牡丹花，如晨雾中缀于枝梢的新橙般俏丽可人，花瓣重叠落落大方，如刘禹锡诗中所写径尺千馀朵，人间有此花。今朝见颜色，更不向诸家，不愧国色之名。同时作者运用红巧雕刻成两只食琢牡丹的麻雀，整体形成一幅生动形象的动人画卷。
自古皆叹芙蓉难成章，因而此件芙蓉石方章尤其难得，是藏友不可错过的佳作。
