An Ottoman silk velvet and leather man’s note case, in red, with compartments and exterior flap fastening with a tiny hook linking two metal flowers, the front heavily embroidered in gilt thread and gold sequins, leaving very little of the dark red/brown velvet unadorned, in contrast the back is embroidered much more simply, the edges bound in metal thread, internally, the largest compartment is lined in pale pink linen, a red leather shaped flap covers a smaller section and a further red flap covers a section of coin size, approx. 4 inches or 10cm by 2.5 inches or 6.5cm.
