此器直腹，下承四足，通体施天蓝釉，釉面莹润，此种盆为栽种水仙之用，水仙本是原产意大利，自唐代开始输入中国，最早的可靠文献见于段公路《北户录》，中云：“孙光宪续注曰，从事江陵日，寄住蕃客穆思密尝遗水仙花数本，摘之水器中，经年不萎。”是当时极为名贵的陈设用花卉，故而自北宋开始就出现了水仙花盆。
