本件香薰属兽形炉之属，造型别致，鸠鸟所占比例颇大，扭首回望，双翼敛于身侧，圆目尖喙；身体上下做字母口盒形薰炉，腹部上下中挖空为装置香料，点燃香料，香气从尖喙等孔中飘散而出。整器通体施青釉，釉呈色葱绿，有开片，开细碎冰裂纹，裂纹深浅不一。整个器物构思独特，制作奇巧，既可陈设作观赏器，又可拿来薰香之用。从其造型、风格看，此器当为明代龙泉窑之代表作品。
