A PAIR OF JACOB PETIT PORCELAIN FIGURAL FLASKS OF A SEATED SULTAN AND SULTANA Attributed to Jacob Petit, Paris, France, mid-19th centuryA PAIR OF JACOB PETIT PORCELAIN FIGURAL FLASKS OF A SEATED SULTAN AND SULTANAAttributed to Jacob Petit, Paris, France, mid-19th century Modelled as a seated Ottoman Sultan and Sultana on octagonal cushions, both wearing colourful gilt-embroidered flowered robes, the top of their polychrome-painted voluminous turbans with a hole, both figures without the original stoppers, the Sultan seated next to a huqqa (water pipe) and holding the mouth piece in his right hand, the Sultana holding a flower in her right hand, a grey dove perched on her left hand, both bases stamped with the maker's mark in cobalt blue J.P., each approx. 22.5cm high.
