Bronze mit grüner und kupferroter Patina. Rechteckiges Becken mit aufragenden Henkeln und ausgeprägten Graten an den vertikalen Kanten. Auf allen vier Seiten präziser Reliefdekor je einer Taotie-Maske mit vier kleinen Drachen darüber. Inschrift auf der Unterseite.Purchased at Koller Auctions 5.5.2011, lot 137. Before: American private collection, by repute ex H. Medill Sarkisian collection. H. Medill Sarkisian [1899 - 1993] was a third generation Oriental Art collector and dealer in Denver. He was a Harvard University graduate, specializing in Oriental Art and the Chinese language, which he spoke fluently. He became the curator of the Asian Art Dept. at the Denver Art Museum in 1948, and held that position till 1973. Having put countless of his pieces on loan and donating many others, the museum named an entire wing after him.
