A CHINESE PEACH BLOOM-GLAZED VASE.A CHINESE PEACH BLOOM-GLAZED VASE. Probably Qing Dynasty, Yongzheng to Qianlong period. The spindle-shaped body modelled with vertical ribs and decorated with a thick copper-red glaze with green speckles and cream streaks stopping short of an unglazed foot, the interior white, 32.5cm H. 清約雍正 / 乾隆 豇豆紅釉瓶 Dating of this piece may be taken assisted by a garniture of similarly shaped celadon-glazed vases from the Wallace Collection, illustrated in Jenyns, Later Chinese Porcelain, pl XCVI, bearing ormolu-mounts with a crowned 'C' mark used in France between 1735 and 1749 to indicate that tax had been paid.
