Comprising four Qingbai bowls incised with stylised foliage and decorated with pale blue glaze, a conical bowl with a lotus petal band to the exterior under an olive-green glaze and a white-glazed dish, 17.5cm diameter. Renowned scholar and curator, David Scrase was Honorary Keeper of Italian Drawings, Honorary Marlay Group member, former Assistant Keeper, then Keeper, of Paintings, Drawings and Prints and Assistant Director (Collections) of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. An internationally acclaimed authority on Italian art, particularly drawings, Scrase published extensively and on a variety of subjects.
