香盒黄花梨制成，包浆莹润，皮壳熟透，呈深红褐色。盒以一段黄花梨料雕作四层打洼弦纹，弦纹交接处又做成倭角，整体作竹节状，显然也是受到竹节造型启发而成。盒望之宛若一体，其实分盖、盒身两部分，盖面弦纹内落堂，原应有嵌饰物。盒底与盒身为一木制成，平底可见黄花梨如涟漪般的木纹断面。竹节造型取意“生而有节”之意，与文人富有节气的情操吻合。
