Finely modeled bisque Minton parian ware figure "Solitude", issued by the Art Union of London as a prize, depicting a seated female figure on arocky seat with a heron, Titled to the base and impressed "J. Lawlor/Sculp" and "Art-Union/of/London/1852". Note: The original piece was exhibited at the London Exhibition of 1851 and appears in "The ParianPhenomenon: A Survey of Victorian Parian Porcelain Statuary & Busts" edited by Paul Atterbury, publisher Richard Dennis, 1989, page 72, figure 106.
