An 18th century silver mounted glass cruet bottle by Hester Bateman, date mark rubbed, designed with elongated handle and hinged lid with stylised shell thumbpiece, the bright-cut engraved collar to cut glass body, 18.3cm high, together with a further silver mounted cruet bottle, Birmingham, c.1910, John Grinsell & Sons, the plain glass body to a silver mounted glass stopper, and a silver mounted butter dish, Sheffield, c.1915, Walker & Hall, designed with pierced geometric patterned sides and twin handles, 7.3cm dia. (3)Please refer to department for condition report Hester Bateman cruet bottle: good overall condition commensurate with age. Some abrasion and small chips noted to the glass and some short cracks (approx. 0.5cm or less) noted to the glass inside the collar of the bottle. The hinged lid opens and closes cleanly but is a little loose. The marks are rubbed (maker's mark partially and city & date marks fully). The handle is firm but there are several splits noted to the silver on the underside of the handle (please see photos). The decoration to the silver is rubbed in places. John Grinsell bottle: good overall condition commensurate with age. There is a large ding to the cap (in addition to two small nicks/dings) and the hallmarks to the collar are rubbed. Some light surface scratching to the glass but no chips or cracks noted. Some nicking and surface scratching to the silver. Butter dish: sits with one foot slightly raised. good overall condition commensurate with age. no chips or cracks noted to the glass. No repairs noted to the silver. Only light surface scratching and nicking to the silver.
