Martin Yeoman, British b.1953- Yemeni Gentleman; sanguine on bluish-white coloured paper, signed, dated 7.4.96 in pencil, 17x13cm (ARR) Provenance: Petley Fine Art, London, where purchased by the present owner Illustrated: Mackintosh-Smith, Tim, Yemen, Travels in Dictionary Land, pg 27, this being the original preparatory drawing for the etching reproduced in the book Note: Yeoman is best known for his depictions of the Royal Family and accompanying the Prince of Wales on a number of tours teaching him to paint. In November 1986 the Prince and Yeoman went on an official tour of the Gulf. A few months later, Yeoman returned to the Gulf States under the sponsorship of Sheikh Khalifa of Qatar and went onto visit North Yemen which inspired a large portion of his work.Please refer to department for condition report
