Along with Rome and Florence, the lagoon city was the most important stop for every traveller to Italy in the 18th century, vedute of the city were therefore in great demand. This view shows the parish church of San Geremia on the left and Palazzo Labia in front - one of the most magnificent palaces of the 18th century, still famous today for its frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo.
