18/19th C. Qing period. Very Rare Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Bird Cage. Probably Imperial origin. The dome-shaped cage, resting on four ruyi-shaped feet decorated with lotus, the underside with mark, the lower periphery of the cage with openwork decoration of scrolls and lotus of various sizes, the bars in gilded bronze, the oval door with enameled bird and flower scene, the inside of the cage also decorated with a parakeet with finely enameled plumage perching on a Y support, its red belly contrasting with the varied colors of its wings.
